Wanting to Be Wonky in the Irish Way

Long Life to You! St. Patricks Day is in a few hours. Oh how I wish I was toasting with a Pint of Guiness at O'Dowds on the Plaza in KC. It is a wonderful family Pub. A joyful place that you can take the kids and have fun and hear good Irish music. And I'm not even Irish! But Hungarians love to celebrate too!

Need to Focus...Like an Iris

This morning I got sooo sidetracked!I will enlighten you of my Sidetracked Path––won't you join me?;
Loving to garden I sign up for emails from seed and gardening companies

• receive said email


• go online and view pretty catalog


• see pretty picture of a peachy-pink bearded iris


• knowing my sister loves Iris I look for copyright/royalty free photos of similar iris


• find said photo


• copy and save so I can email pretty iris pic to my sis


• while working on web-design for a customer (which is what I was supposed to be doing) my eye catches the thumbnail pic of pretty iris on my desktop


• hmmm... I think... I could turn that pretty iris into a photoshop brush


• leave web work and open CS2


• open iris pic and work on creating the pretty iris brush


• while tweaking the iris THE VOICE tells me.. You are sidetracked
  "Yes", I say, "I know."

Why am I this way? I should do better. Hmmm... I should write down how my trail of sidetrackededness happens...

Leave unfinished Iris creation and open Text file to journal my sidetrackededness...
Wow... look at all the misspellings... I should... Oh! The Iris
And look! I see I have new email. I should close my mail program. That is what I learned to do in my endeavors to be a good GTD groupie. This essay of mine is boring me...I have work to do...But first...that Iris must be finished.

Oh! And I forgot to email my sister the original..that means I have to open my email program...

Whoo Hoo

Just me and Da Boyz! I have the house to myself! I feel like Ferris Bueller! I can sew! No I can't! DANG! I gotta finish organizing and cleaning the sewing room...maybe...who's to know...hmmm Dogs!! You are sworn to secrecy! And stop looking at me like that!

Her Wonky-ness' Perfection

Queen of Wonky that I am it is hard to accomplish perfection ... but I think I am on my way. Yesterday I managed to sort and fold some of my fabrics. I am using the Happy Zombie's fabric folding method. BUT! DO NOT ATTEMPT this standing over a table that is sitting height whilst trying to avoid hitting your head on an angled attic ceiling...I threw my back out...hence the small fabric pile... that still looks a bit wonky to me...but not quite skew-whiff (look it up). As far as the perfectionist thing...well I'm working on it!

BBB!

Big, Beautiful, Biscuits! In celebration of the new Spring Forward time change day I made a yummy breakfast. The biscuits were amazing! (I say with a humble blush). I made grits too...not the pasty watery white quick cooking kind mind you––but real stone-ground yellow ones from Carolina Plantation I also cooked Black Forest Bacon and eggs for those that like eggs––ick! Not the Mama!

Sewin' Room Blues

Oy! is there any hope? I moved into our home almost 6 months ago and still no organized and pretty sewing area. Oy! I say again. What's a girl to do?? I will be chaining myself to this room until it is in order. . . if I do not get sidetracked by bright shiny objects––like fabric or wool or fiber-y things!

Green or something Springy! The roving I have is very nice and pretty...but it is 75º in Austin today and I have
Need-Spring-Colours-itis! I have felted 2 thrift store sweaters. They are women's larges shrunk to a size that would fit one of my granddaughters! I need ideas of what to create... and uh, yeah...I made that awesome felted ball in a moment of felting funk––ever try to explain to your kids WHY you're wetting, soaping and rolling littles balls of wool? "You're doing th-a-a-t be-cuuuz...???"
